1. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of text a website stores in your browser, so it can recognize you on your next visit. Browsers also let a site keep values in local storage, which works the same way; this policy covers both.
2. Only what the Site needs
The Site keeps only values that are strictly necessary for something you asked for. It runs no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it sets no third-party cookies. Strictly necessary storage does not need your consent under European law, which is why the Site shows a notice instead of an accept or reject choice.
3. What we keep
These are every value the Site stores, and why:
- Pro session (__Secure-koala_pro and koala_pro_ui): keeps your license signed in after you sign in on the Account page. The first is encrypted and unreadable to scripts; both end after 30 days without use, 180 days at most, or when you sign out.
- Your settings (theme, koala-accent, koala-radius, koala-concept, in local storage): the theme, accent, radius and concept you picked, set only once you change them. They stay until you clear them.
- Example preferences (keys starting with koala-data-table: and koala-emoji-recent, in local storage): how you left an interactive example in the documentation, such as a table's columns or your recent emoji. Set only when you use that example, and kept until you clear them.
- This notice (koala-cookie-notice, in local storage): remembers that you have read the cookie notice, for six months.
4. Other sites
Videos in the blog use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookie until you press play. The checkout runs on Lemon Squeezy's own site, under its own cookie policy.
5. Your choices
You can delete these values, or block them, in your browser's settings at any time. If you do, you will be signed out and your settings will return to their defaults; the rest of the Site keeps working.
6. Changes to this policy
If the Site ever needs a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will update this policy first, and the Site will ask for your consent before setting it.
